General: Can you believe this is year 18 ! The organising committee (the Bell Meadow Village Association) are a group of villagers passionate about our rural heritage who pool talents to create a great event and we are delighted to be organising a similar event again this year. Once again the day time event will include competitions for jam, chutney, flower arranging, cakes etc, we are again being joined by local craftsmen who will demonstrate their skills, plus a Gun Dog display by a local team We are supported by local businesses and groups and hope to be blessed with some wonderful weather to make an amazing afternoon. This will then be finished off in style with live music in the evening. Bell Meadow is set on a slope creating the perfect arena for a band. We believe that last year’s event was the best ever, and we hope for an even better day this year.
Getting There: The event is being held on Bell Meadow, Church Hill in Woodham Walter (for SatNav nearest postcode CM96RF). Woodham Walter is situated a couple of miles off the A414 between Danbury and Maldon. From the A12 take exit 18 marked A414 Maldon & Danbury. At the exit roundabout follow the A414 up the hill and through Danbury (over 3 mini roundabouts and past a Tesco/Esso garage). Continue down the hill and then turn left sign posted to Woodham Walter (and brown sign to Golf Course). Follow this road past The Anchor Pub and continue into Woodham Walter. Bell Meadow is situated just opposite the Church. Access to the meadow is via an entrance track at the top of the field almost opposite St Michael’s Church or at the new entrance gate opposite The Bell Public House on Little Baddow Road at the bottom of the hill.
On Arrival: Please try to arrive on site between 9.30am and 10.30am, when you will be allocated your pitch. Vehicles may enter the field for loading/unloading and can then be parked in the car park area. There may be room for your vehicle at your pitch location if necessary but please advise of this and get approval when booking your stall.
Pitch Fee: This should be paid in advance, see the booking form for details. Cheques payable to “Bell Meadow Village Association”. This year all stallholders will be sent 2 wristbands to note that they are stallholders and these will gain them entry to the Meadow. Please note this on your booking form, if you require additional wristbands – these are required for entry onto the Meadow, throughout the day and the evening.
N.B. refunds will only be issued if event is cancelled
